To Pat and Family, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Tom. When I worked at Scotts I always enjoyed a chat with him. He would always ask about Angie and her family and I would tell her and relay the message to him that she said Hi. Angie went to work for you and Tom and was her first job at 14 years old that you couldn"t talk her out of. She always thought alot of both of you.She Is now In Iowa married with 4 children.She would like to be here for Toms funeral but sends her Sympathy to you and your family Pat. Tom was the greatest friend, and great sence of humor. He could cheer you up, when he was the one dieing. He always kept that humor, and I will miss him sorely

Uncle Tom will be greatly

Uncle Tom will be greatly missed.
He was a wonderful uncle that always had time to sit and talk.
He was always encouraged. I loved the times that I got to spend with him.
I have prayed for him often for 30 years and I will continue to pray for Aunt Pat and my cousins and their families.
I remember the time when I was 10 that Uncle Tom & Aunt Pat invited Sharon and I to come to their house and stay for a week. Uncle Tom tried to teach me how to work in the ice cream shop. It was neat. Then he spoiled us with activities and shopping!!!
I loved uncle Tom and I love his family!!!

came all the way to the college Susan and I were going to by Chicago, to take their nieces out to dinner. We appreciated
that time they spent with us. I will miss my Uncle Tom..

Tom may be going from this

Tom may be going from this earth but, he will not be for gotten by his family and friends.

Tom was always a brother I be look up too. He was friendly and ready to help most anyone.

As a young poor boy, I never received much for Christmas. Tom was only about 15 or 16
years old and working for Bemans Super Market at that time. He came home from work on
Christmas eve with two brand new slids, one for me and one for David. Tom must have
given a full weeks pay for those two slids. It was my best Christmas ever as a kid.

Later in life I work a paper rout for the State Journal and all of the local paper carriers were
having a fun day at Lake Lansing amusements park with lunch included. I had no way of
getting there so Tom took some time off from seeing Pat to take me out to the park for the
day and back home again..

At the age of 15 I had saved up my own hard working money to buy my first car.
The salesman at the car lot would not sell a car to me because of my age. Tom heard of this
and took me right down to the car lot and bought the car off of the lot in his name. We took
the car home and Tom sign the title over to me.

I could go on and on about the goodness of TOM but, he would get the " Big Head "
even in Heaven.

I will see him again some day in Heaven and, you can too, IF you are saved, if you are not
Tom and his Christian Family and Friends would like to see you get saved today.
It's easy ! Read Romans 3:10 , 3:23, 6:23 , 10:9 and 10:13 in the Bible.

I will miss Tom at Shipshewana this year.

Jess,Tom and myself would see each other each week there.

I will never forget,one HOT day, Tom came over to our store, caring three BIG ice cream cones.
That was fun, trying to wait on customers and eat dripping ice cream at the same time. At dinner
Tom and Jess was always trying to get the other one to pay for the dinner.
It didn't work most of the time, for either one of them. Tom was a good brother-in law to me and
I will truly miss him until I get to Heaven.

Tom had great pride in his family and would tell of their progress and successes throughout the years when he joined the family by marrying my beautiful niece Pat. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you in the loss of a great man who will be missed.

Like most dads, he was larger

Like most dads, he was larger than life at times, human at others and a pain during my teen-age years. To my dismay, he was normally right. Even then, I had the upmost respect for his commitment to his faith, family and compassion. The one comment I remember hearing alot was "even a big tree bends a litte" (not an easy concept for us first borns). Today I affectionetly see him as a big tree with extending branches that reached far and wide to shadow, nourish and protect those within his reach. He left seeds of inspiration, faith, family and love for everyone. He truly left the world better than he found it.

PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCES AT YOUR LOSS. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT MANY MONTHS FOR BOTH OF YOU.

EVEN THOUGH I ONLY MET TOM A FEW TIMES, I DO REMEMBER HIS FINE OUTGOING GREGARIOUS PEOPLE PERSONALITY. I ESPECIALLY ENJOYED CHATTING WITH HIM AT DAYNES WEDDING.

So sorry to hear about Tom. I was very lucky to be able to work for Tom and Pat throughout my high school years. He was a great guy - even after all these years, he'd stop and talk when we'd see each other, always asking about my family and catching me up with his. I don't think he realized what a positive influence he was in the lives of so many of us kids then.
